Last weekend Infoblox hosted a unique event in Half Moon Bay. The first annual Infoblox "Train Like A Pro" event brought together long-time Infoblox Executive and all-around DNS guru Cricket Liu, and 49ers running back Roger Craig for a day of golf and Infoblox training. This complementary, invitation-only event was held at the Ritz Carlton and by all accounts it was a rousing success. The day started with breakfast and a moderated discussion and ended with cocktails after a round of golf; sounds like a perfect day to us. DeepDive Networking congratulates Infoblox on this successful first event and we hope there are many more to come!

Early this week the Republican National Committee announced that the information of over 198 million US voters had been leaked. While most of the information was not sensitive or confidential a bigger concern is the voter analytics that were also part of the 1.1 terabyte of compromised data. Deep Root Analytics was hired during the last presidential campaign by the RNC to compile information designed to predict voter behavior. Deep Root Analytics and other similar companies mine information from social media, web browser history and other online sources to build psychological profiles that help target marketing to specific voters. Researchers from the University of Washington and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology have discovered magnetism in monolayers. Monolayers are materials with a single atomic layer. Chromium triiodide was known to have intrinsic magnetic properties but the fact that it retains these properties in a single atomic layer is very big news. This development could make computing devices smaller and faster than has previously been thought possible.
